Green Screen Practice

After my green screen research I decided to practice using the green screen myself. We have decided to use the green screen for a part of our lip sync and also to create our digipak.

Today we took some footage of Hannah lip syncing to our song, ‘You’ve Got The Love’ infront of the green screen. We had to ensure that Hannah stood without touching the green screen so that the background we chose to use would not appear to be moving. After filming the footage, I uploaded it to the Mac and opened it in Final Cut Pro.

When using the green screen for our digipak, I took a photo of our friendship bracelets that feature throughout the video. I then opened the photo in Photoshop and used the ‘Magic Eraser Tool’ to remove the green background. I then zoomed into the bracelet to remove any extra green pixels. I then adjusted the brightness and contrast of the photo to allow the bracelets to become more eye catching. I used the ‘Eyedropper Tool’ to select the correct colour when making the white beads appear brighter using the ‘Paint Brush Tool’.

These two tasks have given me both practice in using the green screen for taking moving footage and images and also build on my basic understanding of Photoshop.
