To begin with I went through all the images taken infront of the green screen. I chose pictures that I believed best suited the artist we was trying to create. I decided to chose 6 for the front cover, inspired by the Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen digipak. I chose 6 instead of 9 as the square shape of the CD case has less room for the images, and we needed to ensure we had enough space for the artist name and cd name.
We edited our pictures on Photoshop. The main changes we completed were:
-Erasing the green screen
-Brightening of eyes/ teeth
-Cloning or removing hair
-Covering blemishes
We believe these changes are the most common seen in the industry currently, and wanted our digipak to look as professional as others on the market.
FRONT COVER
Here are the before and after stages of our front cover 6 images.
After the images where ready, we created a guideline on InDesign. This software is used for laying out images and words, which I thought was perfect for this part of the project.

I placed the Chelsea Violet logo at the top, so it is easily noticeable and one of the main parts to the cover. I aligned the name of the CD with the name of the artist in the centre of the page.

On reflection of my first draft, I believed the case looked a bit empty, even though there was minimal white space. To fix this I decided to use a background I had previously created on Illustrator, when getting to grips with the software. Hannah and I also decided to change the name of the album, as many artists have different names from the track on the CD. We decided to go with Twilight as it represented our artist name Chelsea VIOLET and was a catchy, rememberable word.
After creating my second draft, I had the opposite problem to my initial issue, I now felt like the case looked too busy. To fix this, we only used the background at the top and bottom of the case, behind the text. This allowed the images to stand out more, against the plain white background and let the message of our fun/ relatable artist across.
